Introduction From Paul Winder ...

It has been a busy quarter with seminars and the international conference. I have written a summary of our seminar programme for 2007 based on feedback received.

The aim of this is to stimulate you all into helping shape our seminar programme for 2008.

To give some feedback on the MGI International Conference, held in Amsterdam earlier this month we have the thoughts of Noel Kelleway and Chris Padget. Whilst I did not attend the conference I did attend my first International Committee Meeting, which certainly helped me understand better how the desire for a consistent MGI brand is interpreted around the world.

Congratulations are in order to Andy Grout of MGI Midgley Snelling, who has been appointed as the new worldwide Chairman of MGI. We are fortunate to have Andy attending our MGI UK and Ireland conference later this month where he will be presenting, along with our representative on the International Committee, Robin Sewell, on what you can expect from MGI in the future and for them to listen to your views.

Jo Edwards, of JE Consulting, has been busy on our behalf seeking introductions to possible new members for MGI. You will find a summary of her activities over recent months in the Latest News section, which shows we are now on the agenda of many forthcoming partners meetings. Indeed, I am hoping that one potential member will attend part of our conference later this month and Robin and I are meeting a potential new member in London later this month following an initial meeting that I have had. I will also be representing MGI at the Corporate Finance Network's conference this month where I will be running a couple of breakout sessions on the advantages of being part of a national and international association.

Finally, and most importantly, I look forward to meeting you all at our conference starting on November 22nd. This year we have more than forty delegates at what I am sure will be our best conference yet!
