Countdown begins to annual conference

Experts in all aspects of staff recruitment, retention and career development will be sharing their experience at MGI UK and Ireland’s 2008 annual conference.

The event, titled Just the Job, will take place at the Hayley Conference Centre, Ettington Chase, Stratford-upon-Avon, from 20-22 November. Around 80 delegates from member and prospective member firms are expected to attend the event, which will focus on attracting the brightest and best people into the accountancy profession and keeping them.

Speakers offering wide-ranging perspectives on recruitment, retention and career development will include Stephen Cheliotis of brand research specialists Superbrands, who will explore why first impressions count in attracting good people.

Jenny Goulding, HR manager of specialist tax consultants Bourne Business Consulting, will discuss the opportunities and pitfalls of graduate programmes and employment law specialists Christine Dyson and Lynne Ingram of Knights solicitors llp will look at how to advertise vacancies and interview candidates without falling foul of the law.

Other speakers will include representatives from recruitment website monster.com and recruitment experts Hays Personnel as well from specialists in headhunting and employee remuneration.
