The last quarter has been a busy one for MGI UK & Ireland, even though most of what has gone on is behind the scenes.

I attended the Madrid EAM, which was very successful, not only in the formal conference but in respect of networking between member firms.

More importantly for us though has been the number of meetings held with potential member firms. Having met with firms wishing to become our new London member one firm has clearly shone out and their membership application is expected shortly.

Meetings have also been held with good quality firms on the south coast, in Northern Ireland and on the Oxfordshire/Warwickshire borders. All the firms offer a positive opportunity to MGI in respect of services offered and geography.

Other activities related to new member targeting include the case study brochure and an event to be held in Birmingham, Liverpool or Manchester. The case study brochure requires all of your firms to finalise your “case study” on MGI, so please prioritise this and get your international reference. We want to mail this out to target firms at the end of September.

The new member event will be a CPD accredited seminar, focusing on issues affecting clients that have international businesses or aspire to have, and will involve representatives from member firms presenting.

We will also use our UK and Ireland conference to market MGI to potential members and will be inviting interested parties to attend.

I have asked UK and Ireland members to provide a summary of MGI referrals in the first six months of this year. All potential members I meet with ask about this and not knowing makes MGI look disorganised. Would those firms who have still not sent me this information please do so and bear in mind that this is something I intend to follow up every six months.
