MGI Firm Implements Innovative Work Placement Scheme

Leicestershire based MGI member firm The Rowleys Partnership Ltd (Rowley’s) is investing in its own future by using innovative strategies when it comes to recruitment.  Rowley’s runs a work placement scheme in partnership with local Beauchamp College’s Business, Economics and Accounts department.

The scheme was set up in 2006, and involves applications from students at the college for a two week work experience placement.  One of the first students to take part in the scheme was Neal Patel, who later secured a full time position with the firm.

Rowley’s is continuing to support Neal, and the other students that were successful in securing employment with Rowley’s as a result of the placements, in the training and examinations required to become a chartered or certified accountant.  Being a quality assured MGI UK member firm, Rowley’s is ideally positioned to ensure training is of the highest standards.

Bryan Freeman of Rowley’s said: “It’s vital that we keep attracting high calibre people to Rowley’s.  This is just one of the ways we do this and it has worked really, really well for us over the last three years.  We look forward to doing it all over again next year!”
