UK Accountants Look Forward to Worldwide Conference

UK and Ireland members of global accountancy association MGI will be heading for Mexico in October for the organisation’s annual general meeting.

The AGM, which will take place in Mexico City from 22-24 October, will bring together members of MGI from around the world to discuss topical issues and look at ways to further develop the association. MGI, which was founded in 1947, is already one of the world’s largest networks of independent auditing, accounting and consulting firms, with over 260 member firms in more than 70 countries.

They include seven UK and Ireland members: MGI Copsey Murray, which has offices in Dublin and Arklow, Ireland; Lanham & Francis, based in Shaftesbury, Sherborne and Yeovil; MGI Midgley Snelling, in Weybridge; MGI Rickard Keen, in Basildon and Southend-on-Sea; Bradford-based MGI Watson Buckle; Seymour Taylor, in High Wycombe; and Rowley’s, in Leicester.

The AGM will be hosted by the leading Mexican accountancy firm of MGI Bargallo Cardoso Asociados.

MGI UK and Ireland chief executive officer Paul Winder said: “MGI’s annual meetings are an essential tool in helping the association to keep moving forward, by involving member firms in shaping its future development through frank and open discussion and debate, and to discuss common issues and concerns.

“These meetings are also invaluable in building and reinforcing relationships between member firms, which enhance the ability of MGI members to access expertise and local knowledge around the world, to their own and their clients’ benefit.”
