MGI welcomes Harrison Beale and Owen

Harrison Beale and Owen (HB&O), one of the largest independent firms of chartered accountants and financial advisers in the West Midlands, has become MGI’s latest member.

The company, which has offices in Coventry and Leamington Spa, was formed in 2004 when the teams of Harrison Beale and D A Owen and Company were merged.

Since then, HB&O has continued to expand and now employs over 60 dedicated professionals to offer “real world” business advice combined with in-depth financial and taxation knowledge.

Rob Kendall, managing director at HB&O, said joining MGI would be a significant factor in allowing the company to continue its growth and develop its client base.

He said: “An increasing number of our clients have enquired about working outside the UK, largely due to companies seeking alternative streams of income during the economic downturn.

“As a result they would require guidance on international trading practice.

“We were keen to be able to meet our client’s needs, but in order to do that effectively on a large scale we needed help from accountants in the relevant countries, and joining an association was the obvious way to achieve this.

“We investigated a number of possible options but MGI stood out from the alternatives.

“The reputation of MGI’s members as well as the association’s wide geographical coverage made them an obvious choice.

“As a result of this partnership we will be able to provide an even more comprehensive service to our existing clients, while hopefully attracting some new clients who require access to the international expertise we now provide.”

Being part of MGI will allow Harrison Beale & Owen’s clients to benefit from the advice and assistance of overseas members. The firm will also be able to offer its own expertise to the association, including delivering quality personal investment, pensions and protection advice.
