MGI keeps on blogging

MGI has continued to maintain a presence on the popular accountancy website www.accountingweb.co.uk, with its own blog channel, featuring contributions from MGI members on the issues of the day.

The most recent article was from Paul Smethurst – a forensic accountant at Carter Backer Winter LLP – on preventing fraud in businesses, after the recent case involving an employee at KPMG, which included advice to small business owners on how they could make their systems more secure. The blog attracted over 300 views during its first week on the site.

An article by John Kinsella from Watson Buckle concerned auto enrolment, and the government’s plans to launch new ‘personal accounts’ to fund pension provision from 2012, urging firms to start planning now for the likely additional financial impact.

In addition, an earlier blog from Carter Backer Winter partner John Alexander on pre-pack administration was made one of the site’s ‘Themes of the Month’ for August, and as such has now attracted over 1,200 views, together with several comments as readers of the site gave their views on the subject.

Any MGI member who would like to contribute a blog, or suggest an idea for one, in future should contact Paul Winder.
