MGI marketing seminar
It was good to meet with the other attendees from MGI at the ‘rainmaker’ seminar on 4 and 5 September.
The use of JE Consulting's state-of-the-art offices on the 37th Floor of a skyscraper in Canary Wharf, on an afternoon without a cloud in the sky, offered amazing views over the whole of London and its surrounding suburbs.
The format of the marketing course was really helpful as it enabled the MGI ‘new boys’ from Carter Backer Winter an excellent opportunity to meet and discuss general practice issues with a number of partners and managers from other MGI firms in an informal and relaxed setting.
The first session of the course on Friday afternoon was followed by an excellent dinner at a local restaurant. Judging by the laughter around the table and flowing wine, I think everyone really enjoyed the evening. The final session on Saturday morning was given by Jo Edwards. Jo has worked with many accountancy firms over the years and her knowledge of the marketing issues facing MGI-type firms, was well-focused. I personally found Jo's ideas very interesting and practical, and I am looking forward to implementing several of her ideas over the next few weeks.
I believe the attendees will have found the workshop format of the course sessions provided a great opportunity to learn, swap ideas and get to know other MGI members.
I must thank everyone involved for the excellent way the course well planned, from the venue for the course, to the timing of taxis to ferry us around Canary Wharf and the choice of restaurant for the evening meal.
