Managing partners discuss latest issues
Our managing partners forum in November featured a number of open and lively debates, as always. There was much discussion about the current economic climate and what member firms were doing with regard to client fee levels, recruitment, salary levels and finding new client opportunities. We reviewed the Inter-Firm Comparison figures, which have now been circulated in their final format to our member firms.
The managing partners discussed the board structure of MGI UK and Ireland going forward, which proposed the board grows to six members, based on the fact that we are looking to end up with 12 to 15 member firms in the UK.
It was proposed that people will sit on the board for three years, with two of the six board members stepping retiring each year. This was subsequently put to members at the annual conference, and ratified as the structure we will adopt going forward.
