Paris hosts global conference

A total of 18 representatives from British member firms Midgley Snelling, Milsted Langdon, Rowleys, Watson Buckle, Rickard Keen, Seymour Taylor and Carter Backer Winter, were among the 140 delegates at the event, which took place in Paris from 14 to 16 October.

The meeting’s theme, ‘The Economic Crisis: Opportunity and Challenge’, provided an opportunity for discussions about the global financial situation and how MGI and its members could confront the current challenges and maximise the opportunities created by current world developments.

Presentations on leadership and marketing were particularly well received. Carter Backer Winter also took the opportunity to introduce themselves to other members, with a presentation based on the theme of a London Monopoly board, whilst recent MGI recruits Milsted Langdon gave an equally impressive, if more traditional, talk about their firm.

There was a really good, positive vibe about the meeting, and it provided a great opportunity for people to network and get to know one another better. Being in a city like Paris certainly helped, as we were able to take advantage of some of the many dining and sightseeing opportunities it had to offer.

As a finale, I think everyone enjoyed the change of subject with a presentation by the family owners of Taittinger Champagne on the importance of champagne if you are to live a full and active life.
