As well as their success in the regional ICAEW awards, Rickard Keen have also been shortlisted in the Business to Business category of the Basildon Business awards, which recognise the efforts of local firms which have worked hard to attract new investment and create jobs in the area. The firm has also presented a cheque for £500 to the charity Médecins Sans Frontières after staging a number of events including a dress-down day, a cake sale and a raffle to raise funds.
There were some new arrivals at Watson Buckle with Claire Humphreys joining the firm as practice manager and Carron Rowe joining the business services team. The firm is also doing its bit to help the local economy by providing accountancy and bookkeeping services to start-up businesses under a scheme run by Bradford City Council.
Milsted Langdon partner Simon Denton has recently been appointed to the board of trustees for the Devon Air Ambulance, where he will serve as treasurer and chair of the finance sub-committee for at least three years.
In the run-up to the general election, Midgley Snelling offered its clients and contacts an insight into the current state of the British economy and the issues facing the next government when it staged an economic seminar with Dennis Turner, the chief economist at HSBC. The firm also recently re-launched its website with an updated design and more information and has set up a new range of Legacy Services.
Copsey Murray utilised its own staff to develop and launch its website earlier this year, containing details of services provided, background information, profiles of the partners, and information on current developments in Irish business and the wider economy. Congratulations to Tony Kenny who was recently awarded a Diploma in Forensic Accounting with distinction from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland (CAI). Tim O’Keeffe is currently working towards a Diploma in Corporate Finance, also with the CAI.
