MGI Members Set to Join Global Conferences
TMembers of MGI UK and Ireland, part of the global association of accountancy firms, will be gaining an insight into financial issues around the world when they take part in a series of international conferences over the coming months.
There are forthcoming conferences in North America, Latin America and Australasia during this month, and in Europe in June.
Such meetings provide an opportunity for MGI members from the countries concerned to exchange ideas and information about current business and accountancy trends, but they frequently welcome members from further afield to receive updates on MGI news from other parts of the world.
Mark Ashfield, a director from Harrison, Beale & Owen accountants in Coventry and Warwickshire, which joined MGI last year, will be attending next month’s European Area meeting in Dusseldorf.
He said: “This will be the first conference I’ve attended as an MGI member, and I hope to use this opportunity to go out and network with other European and worldwide firms, to get our name a little more well-known.
“when we joined MGI we saw one of the main benefits as the chance to go out and meet other people, not just in the UK, but further afield, and speaking to other UK members, they have all said the more you put into MGI, the more you get out of it.”
The UK branch of MGI will be turning host later this year, with its conference in Old Windsor during November, which is expected to attract a sizeable international contingent.
It is set to feature a number of presentations on the theme of doing business with emerging economies, as well as workshops on marketing, IT and personal skills development and a chance to discuss the future development of MGI.
