The partners at Milsted Langdon have continued to build their professional expertise, with Roger Isaacs becoming one of the first people in the country to receive a new accreditation for forensic accountants, while Elaine Durrant passed the first stage of her Advanced Diploma in International Taxation. The firm has also been shortlisted for the prestigious Insolvency and Rescue Awards, organised by Credit Today magazine, in the ‘mid-size’ category.
Watson Buckle has launched a new range of Legacy Services designed to help clients deal with the difficult question of what happens to their finances when they die or are no longer able to look after their own affairs – with help and support available on such topics as writing a will, inheritance tax planning, powers of attorney, children’s trusts and pre-nuptial agreements. Meanwhile, partner Mark Wilcock proved it was possible to get blood out of an accountant after receiving an award in recognition of his 100 blood donations since 1987.
At Rickard Keen, the partners held a celebratory meal to mark the firm’s 30th anniversary, having been formed in July 1980 through the merger of Rickard Porter and Hartley Keen. The firm also welcomed two new faces to its team after Louise Cusgrove and Brad Hallet joined as trainees.
Midgley Snelling partner Robin Sewell has recently returned from a trip to East Africa, in his role as a trustee of the Elsa Conservation Trust which operates a field study and education centre on the shores of Lake Naivasha in Kenya.
CBW has been shortlisted for the Accountancy Age Medium Sized Firm of the year award and will be hoping to walk off with the title when the winners are announced on 17 November.
