Annual conference to focus on emerging economies
The MGI UK and Ireland conference will this year focus on both doing business in emerging economies, with a particular focus on the so called BRIC countries who are expected to dominate the global economy in the future – Brazil, Russia, India and China – as well as opportunities closer to home.
The global association of accountancy firms has over 170 member firms around the world, and hopes to welcome guests from many of them to the conference in November, alongside representatives of all the UK and Ireland members.
The event will take place from 18 to 20 November at Beaumont House in Windsor, under the title ‘How to your clients do business in emerging economies?’
Dennis Turner, the chief economist at HSBC, has been secured to give the after-dinner speech on the Friday evening, where he will give his own insights into emerging economies as well as wider issues of the recession, the new government and Fulham Football Club!
MGI has also landed the support of BCMS Corporate – the UK’s market leader in the sale of privately-owned companies – who, as well as sponsoring the event, will be giving a presentation on the theme of ‘Doing Business’.
Paul Winder, chief executive officer of MGI UK and Ireland, said: “Our annual conference has gone from strength to strength over recent years, with last year’s event attracting a record attendance and many positive comments from guests.
“This year, we are delighted to have secured Dennis Turner to give one of our keynote speeches – he is a well-respected economist who will be able to provide us with a great deal of insight into doing business with emerging economies as well as more general business issues.
“Anyone who is interested in hearing more from Dennis, or any of our other speakers, would be very welcome to join us for the conference , particularly anyone who may be considering joining MGI, as it will be a great chance to find out more about the benefits of membership.”
The cost per attendee will be £395, including all food and accommodation. For more information visit www.mgi-uk.com .
MGI, which was founded in 1947, is an association of independent accounting and consulting firms with 266 member offices in 79 countries. MGI firms share accountancy, tax and business knowledge and expertise for the benefit of fellow members and their clients.
