Marketing Update

Targeting for new members continues in 2011 with a focus on attracting member firms across all target regions. The targeting process is via direct mail and follows up calls.

The schedule includes the mailing of the BRIC country brochure, the next edition of overseas aspects and the UK and International conference schedule.

Whilst the regional focus is important from a national perspective, the location of new members appears less regionally important internationally as we do not have any issues of inward referrals that we cannot manage with our existing members. Therefore we will continue with our new member prospecting all over the UK in 2011.

The website continues to be a supporting tool for new member targeting and we are constantly adding new email addresses to the prospect list.

The MGI website welcomed 295 visitors over the last month, visiting an average of 2.94 pages and spending just over two minutes on the site. Of these, 51.19 per cent came to the site via search engines, 15.93 per cent arrived through links from other sites and 32.88 per cent navigated to the site directly.

The most popular search term leading to the site was ‘MGI’ itself, but the site also attracted visitors through searches for terms including ‘mgi conference’ and ‘mgi conference 2010’.

PR and blogging continues with contributions from member firms.

New marketing materials for 2011 are under review at the moment to both support the new member search and aid existing members in promotion of the MGI benefits to their clients and contacts.
