Medical specialism in best of health

Rowley’s has reinforced its growing medical sector specialism by welcoming an expert “all-rounder” to the team. Glyn Rawlings, an accountant who also has extensive experience as GP practice and business manager, has joined Rowley’s as its in-house medical sector specialist.

The firm acquired a small practice specialising in medical clients at the beginning of May, making Rowley’s medical sector division the second largest in MGI UK and Ireland. It is growing fast, with the addition of a further three doctors’ practices as clients within the first month.

Headed by director Paula Swann-Jones, the team offers a comprehensive service in tax planning, accounting, VAT and strategic planning advice for doctors, consultants, opticians and dentists. Paula said: “Medical practices are facing a number of challenges, including uncertainty about GP commissioning, increased linking of quality and outcomes frameworks to prescribing, referrals and emergency admissions and review of the general and private medical services contracts.

“Our message to practices is that Rowley’s has the specialist skills and knowledge they need and that it makes sense to work with our experts to review all aspects of their practice expenses and income to strengthen and better understand their financial performance now and for the future.”
