Accountancy Alliance Conference Looks Ahead to 2021
Members of the UK and Ireland arm of the global accountancy alliance MGI will be looking ten years into the future at their 2011 annual conference.
The event, which will take place from 1-3 December at the Oatlands Park Hotel, Weybridge, Surrey, will have as its theme “The practice of 2021”.
As well as reviewing the last 12 months and looking ahead to 2012, delegates from member firms will discuss issues including the impact of online services on compliance work, how recruitment and marketing may need to change to meet the challenges of 2021 and whether accountancy firms will become candidates for transformation in the same way that High Street opticians have been commoditised by big name chains.
Paul Winder, chief executive officer of MGI UK and Ireland, said: “The ever-increasing pace of change in today’s business world, enhanced by new technology, means that accountancy firms must constantly look ahead so that they are prepared for future challenges and innovate to remain competitive and distinctive in the face of commoditisation.
“Our conference will be an excellent way for our members to discuss, debate and receive some real insights into these key issues.
“We are also happy to welcome guests to our conference, particularly anyone who might be considering whether to join our alliance and would like the chance to network with existing members and learn more about the benefits of being part of MGI.”
MGI globally has 161 members and a presence in 286 offices and 82 countries across all continents, making it one of the largest alliances of independent auditing, accounting and consulting firms in the world.
