Newest Member of Accountancy Alliance MGI Has Proud History

The UK and Ireland arm of global accountancy alliance MGI has welcomed a firm that has been in business for more than 130 years as its newest member.

Wolverhampton-based Muras Baker Jones, which was founded in 1880, is one of the largest independent firms in the West Midlands, with eight partners and around 50 staff. It joined MGI on 1 September, bringing the alliance’s UK and Ireland membership to 11 firms.

Managing partner Chris Morris said: “We’re a firm that has always recognised the importance of developing and growing to meet the needs of our clients, something that underpins our long history.

“Joining MGI and gaining access to the international knowledge and resources offered by our fellow member firms around the world will add even greater value to what we already do and enhance our services to existing clients and to new ones.

“International trade is already crucial to many UK businesses and identifying and making the most of overseas markets and collaborations will be crucial as the country strengthens its economy over the coming years.

“Through MGI, we’ll be able to offer access to local knowledge in overseas jurisdictions, delivered by accountants with the same client-focused approach as our own, and we can provide all the services and support overseas firms need when they are establishing themselves or operating in the UK.”
