Milsted Langdon scores double awards success
Milsted Langdon has closed 2011 on a high note by winning two prestigious awards.
The firm took the title of Best Large Practice in the UK for 2011 in the inaugural AccountingWEB Practice Excellence Awards, presented in London on 17 November.
More than 80 firms entered the awards, with practices securing a place in the next round on the basis of feedback from client surveys. They were then shortlisted by an expert panel, with the final results decided by votes from AccountingWEB members across the country.
Milsted Langdon tied in terms of votes cast in the final round with fellow MGI firm CBW, but pipped them at the post when the final placings were decided on the outcome of the client satisfaction surveys.
Langdon said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have been crowned the winner of the UK’s
Best Large Practice category at the awards ceremony. “We always try to go the extra mile for our clients and this award is testament to all the
hard efforts on the part of our team. Without their dedication and professionalism, this
award would never have been won.” David Clough, head of operations of event
sponsors CCH, praised Milsted Langdon for “great initiatives, client care and
investment in their people”.
The award came less than a month after Milsted Langdon was named as Business of
the Year 50+ employees in the Somerset Business Awards, organised by Somerset
Chamber of Commerce and Newsquest Somerset, and announced on 21 October.
They were up against tough competition, with the number of entries in the awards
scheme up by 50 per cent on the previous year, for the second year in a row, to set a
new record.
Entries were judged on how they stand out from the crowd in areas including ambition, profitability, growth, sound business planning, customer satisfaction and management of people and how they demonstrate a “wow factor”.
