Update on marketing
The 2012 marketing plan is being prepared for review in January, which will seek to target new members, raise the profile of MGI across the accountancy media and use new channels such as social media to attract interest from prospective members and to raise the profile of the UK & Ireland group internationally.
The website continues to be a supporting tool for new member targeting and will undergo a major revamp in the early part of 2012. Our objective is to present a new and fresh look to the site with easier navigation for visitors.
The existing MGI UK & Ireland website welcomed 441 visitors over the last month, visiting an average of four pages and spending about two minutes on the site. Of these, 60 per cent came to the site via search engines, 20 per cent arrived through links from other sites and the remainder navigated to the site directly.
PR and blogging continues with contributions from member firms. Paul Winder attended the Accountancy Age Best Practice Conference in Manchester in December as a way of meeting firms in the north west.
A number of leads for potential members have been identified and the first meeting about membership is in the diary as a consequence of attending the conference in February.
